Key Scripture:
1 Corinthians 10:13 – “No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.”
Introduction:
Being a Christian doesn’t mean life will be easy. Temptations and trials come, but God gives you strength and tools to overcome them. This lesson will help you stand strong in faith.
How to Handle Temptation and Trials:
1. Recognize Temptation
Know what triggers your temptation or struggles.
Be honest about your weaknesses.
2. Use God’s Word as Your Weapon
Memorize and quote Scripture when tempted.
Jesus used God’s Word to resist Satan (Matthew 4:1-11).
3. Pray for Strength and Guidance
Ask God to help you resist temptation and endure trials.
Prayer brings power.
4. Avoid Situations That Lead to Temptation
Change your environment if needed.
Stay away from places, people, or habits that lead you to sin.
5. Seek Support from Fellow Believers
Share your struggles with trusted Christians.
Accountability helps keep you strong.
6. Remember God’s Faithfulness
God will never allow more than you can handle.
Trials can grow your faith and character (James 1:2-4).
Reflection Questions:
What temptations or trials do you face now?
How can Scripture help you in those moments?
Who can you trust to pray with and support you?
What changes can you make to avoid temptation?
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that You are always with me in trials and temptations. Help me to stand strong, use Your Word, and rely on Your power. Surround me with believers who will encourage me. Strengthen my faith each day. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
