Key Scripture:
Matthew 4:4 – “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.”
Introduction:
Just as your physical body needs food to grow, your spirit needs the Word of God.
The Bible is not just a book—it’s living, powerful, and personal. Through it, you will learn God’s character, His promises, and how to live in the freedom He gives you.
If you want to grow in your walk with Jesus, you must feed on His Word—daily.
What Is the Bible?
The Bible is:
📜 God’s story – From Genesis to Revelation, it reveals God’s plan to save and restore.
🗺️ A guide – It lights your path. (Psalm 119:105)
⚔️ A weapon – It helps you stand against temptation and lies. (Ephesians 6:17)
❤️ A love letter – It reveals God’s deep desire for relationship with you.
Why Read the Bible Daily?
📖 To Know God Better
Jeremiah 9:23–24 – God wants you to boast in understanding and knowing Him.
🧠 To Renew Your Mind
The world bombards us with lies. God’s truth sets us free. (Romans 12:2)
👣 To Learn How to Live
The Bible shows you how to make wise decisions and avoid spiritual pitfalls. (Psalm 119:9)
🌱 To Grow in Faith
Romans 10:17 – “Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
How to Read the Bible as a New Believer
🗓️ Start with a Simple Plan
Begin with the Gospel of John—it focuses on who Jesus is.
Read a little each day, and ask God to speak to you through it.
🖊️ Use a Notebook or Journal
Write down what stands out, what you don’t understand, and how it applies to your life.
🙏 Pray Before and After You Read
Ask the Holy Spirit to open your heart and teach you.
💬 Talk About It
Discuss what you’re learning with another believer or in your church.
Reflection Questions:
What part of the Bible are you reading now—or where will you start?
Have you ever felt God speak to you through Scripture? What was that like?
What obstacles are keeping you from daily Bible reading, and how can you overcome them?
Prayer:
Father God, thank You for giving me Your Word. Help me to love it, hunger for it, and grow through it. Teach me how to apply it to my life. Let it shape my heart, my mind, and my choices. I want to know You better and walk in Your truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
