Lesson 7: How Do I Grow in My Faith?
Foundational Study for New Believers – S.T.A.D Digital Ministry
www.staddigitalministry.com
Key Scripture:
2 Peter 3:18 – “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”
Introduction:
Salvation is just the beginning of a lifelong journey with Jesus. Growth happens when you intentionally deepen your relationship with Him every day.
How to Grow in Your Faith:
1. Daily Time with God
Spend time in prayer and reading the Bible every day.
Even 5–10 minutes can transform your life.
Use simple plans like the YouVersion Bible App to guide you.
Psalm 119:105 – “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
2. Pray Regularly
Prayer is talking with God—sharing your heart, thanking Him, and asking for help.
Remember to listen quietly as well. God speaks in many ways.
Philippians 4:6 – “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
3. Get Connected to Other Believers
If possible, join a local church or an online fellowship (see Lesson 6).
Fellowship strengthens faith and provides accountability.
4. Memorize Scripture
Hide God’s Word in your heart so it will help you in trials and temptation.
Start with simple verses like John 3:16, Psalm 23, or Philippians 4:13.
5. Live Out Your Faith Daily
Obey God’s commands in your everyday life.
Show love, forgiveness, and kindness to others.
James 2:17 – “Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”
6. Persevere Through Challenges
Growth often comes through trials.
God uses difficulties to make you stronger and more like Jesus.
Romans 5:3-5 – “…suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
Special Encouragement for Those Without Physical Church Access:
Use online resources (see Lesson 6) to stay connected and grow.
Create a daily routine of Bible reading and prayer, even alone.
Memorize Scripture to keep God’s Word alive inside you.
Journal your prayers and what God teaches you.
Ask God for wisdom and look for safe ways to encourage others, even if only one or two people nearby.
Reflection Questions:
How can you create a daily habit of prayer and Bible reading?
What is one Scripture verse you want to memorize this week?
How can you share God’s love with someone else this week?
If you can’t attend church, what online resources will you use?
Prayer:
Father God, help me to grow in my faith day by day. Teach me to hear Your voice and obey Your Word. Surround me with Your presence even when I am alone. Give me strength to persevere and courage to share Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
